1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Intentioned ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Application.

2. Description of Service

Intentioned is an open-source, self-hosted social skills training platform that provides:

AI-powered conversation practice scenarios
Speech-to-text transcription
Text-to-speech responses
Communication skills analysis and feedback
Eye contact tracking (optional)

            Educational Purpose: This Application is designed for educational and training purposes only. 
            It is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or medical advice.
        

3. License

This Application is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). This means:

You may use, modify, and distribute the software freely
If you modify and deploy the software, you must make your source code available
You must include the original license and copyright notices
Network use constitutes distribution under AGPL-3.0

3a. Third-Party AI Model Licenses

This Application incorporates the following third-party AI models with their respective licenses:

Kokoro-82M TTS: Apache 2.0 License - HuggingFace
NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3: CC-BY-4.0 License - NVIDIA NGC
Wav2Vec2: MIT License - Meta/Facebook Research
Vosk: Apache 2.0 License - Alpha Cephei
VibeVoice: MIT License (if used)

By using this Application, you agree to comply with the terms of these third-party licenses. Model weights are downloaded to your local machine upon first use.

4. User Responsibilities

By using this Application, you agree to:

Use the Application for its intended educational purpose
Not attempt to circumvent content moderation systems
Not use the Application to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content
Take responsibility for your own deployment's security and privacy
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

5. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use the Application to:

Generate content that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
Harass, threaten, or intimidate others
Create or distribute explicit sexual content
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to extract or misuse the underlying AI models
Use for any commercial purpose without proper attribution under AGPL-3.0

6. Content Moderation

The Application includes an AI-based content moderation system designed to maintain a safe training environment. Content that violates community standards may:

Trigger conversation lockout requiring a restart
Be logged locally for safety review (see Privacy Policy)
Repeated violations (3+): Automatically reported to host/administrator for review

Repeated Violation Policy: If you submit 3 or more similar safety violations within a session, this pattern will be automatically reported to the host/administrator. This policy exists to prevent systematic misuse of the platform.

No Guarantee: While we strive to maintain content safety, no moderation system is perfect. The AI may occasionally flag appropriate content or miss inappropriate content.

7. Browser Extension Compatibility

            Malwarebytes Browser Guard Notice: Some browser security extensions 
            (particularly Malwarebytes Browser Guard) may incorrectly flag this domain as "risky" 
            due to the .tech TLD. This is a false positive. The .tech domain is a 
            standard, legitimate top-level domain used by developers and technology companies worldwide.
        

If you experience blocking:

The Application will display a warning banner with whitelisting instructions
Add intentioned.tech to your extension's allow list
Detection is performed locally by testing if resources from our domain can load

By using this Application, you acknowledge that browser extension compatibility issues are outside our control and accept responsibility for configuring your security software appropriately.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI responses
We do not guarantee the Application will be error-free or uninterrupted
We do not guarantee that the Application will meet your specific needs
Speech recognition and analysis may contain errors

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AUTHORS AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Application's authors and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Application or violation of these Terms.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
